Its been over a month???

I had no idea. Time has been flying between my 2 jobs, and my new niece. I have been running around like the proverbial chicken minus the head, so much so I have been not-sleeping myself to death. This was evident by the event of my first night off in weeks:

I sat down with Maggie, made dinner and hunkered in to watch Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, like we do together every year. Don't tell her I look forward to it, I cover it by rolling my eyes and huffing. Some things never change! I went to sit on the couch at 7:30...out like a light. She woked me for Rudolph at 8, and I was promplty asleep at 8:30 and I woke up at 9:40. I went in to the bedroom and woke at 7am. That's right about 60 minutes short of a 12 hour night!

To add to this, I haven't had time to really visit with my parents or even my brother for much quality time lately. So what is a guy to to in this hustling, bustling world where time is at a premium? I say add more to my schedule! Yup. So, that's what I did.

I will be studying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu starting Monday. Its always fascinated me but I always felt as though my limbs were too short to be of any real use in leverage. Until I began hanging out with a friend, the same friend we went to Salem with. He's my height, weighs a bit less but he seems to do pretty well. He's enthusiastic about it, without being cult member-esque.

I toyed with the idea of going back to Tae Kwon Do, which I loved. I felt as though it would be less fun if I didn't know someone and I stand a better chance of torquing my knee with TKD. I can tap out of a knee lock in BJJ, I can't tap out of an awkard landing as I relearn kicks. So BJJ it is. If you are unfamiliar, you should check out some things on You Tube and Wikipedia about it. It's alot like chess in a physical incarnation.

I did drop a day a week at my part time job, but in lieu of it, I began running the hockey league. So my schedule is not impossibly filled...just filled.

  1. So will you be posting YouTube evidence?

Teddy and I would both like to get back to TKD--it was a fun family bonding experience. Just can't seem to find the time needed.
